Dear Parents,

Attached you will find the permission slip necessary for your child to participate in the Sierra Outdoor School, SOS experience (http://www.clovisusd.k12.ca.us/sos/) on November 14^th through the 16th. We will be leaving Oliveira School at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 14^th. We will be driving straight up to the Sierra Outdoor Facility. Your child should bring a bag lunch as S.O.S is not providing us with lunch on our day of arrival. We have three days of fun-filled classes scheduled. We will be participating in a team challenge, studying raptors or birds, talking about trees, and checking out some astronomy just to name a few of our activities. We should be back to Fremont by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 16th. Please make arrangement to have your child picked-up promptly at 5:00 p.m.

Attached you will also find a letter directly from Sierra Outdoor School that may address any other questions that you have. The clothing check-list is also included with this letter to help you and your child prepare for this trip.

At this time, we are asking for a $126.00 donation to cover the cost of room, board, and classes for each child. If you wish to chaperone it will be an additional $126.00 for you. Your child should also bring food for the ride to S.O.S and five dollars to buy food on the way home.

We need chaperones and drivers. The only way we can make this trip possible is with your help. We need enough parents to volunteer to drive and chaperone once at SOS. If you are having any reservations about allowing your child to participate in this trip, chaperoning is a great way to allow your child to participate in this unique experience and feel good about it at the same time. Many companies allow their employees time off to participate in their children’s school activities. If you are going to do one thing this school year, this should be it!
